Advanced Level Symphony Orchestra

Youth Orchestra offers young musicians the thrilling experience of engaging in advanced orchestral practice and performing a diverse repertoire of masterworks in semi-professional settings.

  • Instruments
    • Strings (Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass & Harp)
    • Woodwinds (Flute, Oboe, Clarinet & Bassoon)
    • Brass (French Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Tuba)
    • Percussion (Timpani, Snare Drum, Xylophone & more)
  • Weekly rehearsals, sectional coaching, workshops and performances
  • Annual Concerto Competition - an opportunity to compete for a solo appearance with YO
  • Suggested minimum age: 12 years old by the end of the calendar year. Age range: 12 - 22+
  • Opening skill level RCM 8 or its equivalent in Suzuki

  • Rehearsals: Sundays 1:00-3:15 pm, Wilfrid Laurier University, Faculty of Music (Sept-Apr)
