- New members of all KWYO orchestras are admitted via auditions including returning members of Youth Orchestra (the advanced level)
- KWYO in-person (live) auditions are an opportunity to meet our faculty and to learn what we offer

- Preludium Strings (entry level ensemble)
- Your in-person audition will take between 8-10 minutes
- Conductors and professional musicians from the community will evaluate the following areas of your performance: tone quality, secure intonation, accurate pitches, rhythm & tempo, dynamic range and the style of music played
- KWYO is actively seeking young musicians playing viola, double bass, oboe, bassoon, French horn, trumpet and trombone. Auditions on those instruments are available throughout the season
- Audition results are communicated to candidates within 72 h following their audition day
- Successful candidates are expected to complete their KWYO enrollment to secure their placement in an orchestra upon receiving the acceptance notification
