Mission & Governance
KWYO Mission
To unite music-loving students through ensemble performance, empowering them to develop transferable skills that help them thrive as individuals and team members. Guided by principles of inclusivity, equality, diversity, and accessibility, KWYO nurtures compassionate community members, arts enthusiasts, and musicians, both professional and community-focused.
Governance
The Kitchener-Waterloo Youth Orchestra (KWYO) is a registered non-profit organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. Our Board brings together committed parents and community members who serve as stewards of KWYO’s artistic vision, values, and long-term sustainability.
Each season, KWYO invites its members to an Annual General Meeting (AGM) to reflect on the year’s achievements, review finances, and look ahead. The Board meets regularly throughout the season, working collaboratively to support a vibrant, inclusive youth orchestra community.
KWYO Board of Directors
Our Board of Directors works closely with Administration and Faculty to support KWYO’s mission. We are committed to providing top-quality instruction that inspires and challenges students, helping them to develop their musical skills and talents through creative learning and rewarding performance opportunities.
